Whitland Town Council have highlighted important information about the town’s level crossing.
As part of their Railway Upgrade Plan, Network Rail will soon be carrying out improvement work to Whitland level crossing: They intend to replace the level crossing barriers, which involves installing new trackside signalling equipment and routing new cables beneath Station Road.
This renewal process, essential to maintaining a safe and reliable railway, means that the crossing will be closed at various times between Friday, February 15 and Monday. March 4. A signposted diversion route will be in place during this time.
The crossing will be open from Monday, February 18 until Friday, February 22 between 6 am and 8 pm to allow vehicles and pedestrians to pass through.
There is a drop in session in Whitland Town Hall on Tuesday, January 22 between 2 pm and 5 pm to ask questions and find out more.
If you are concerned, but not able to make the meeting, you can get in touch via [email protected] or by calling 03457 114141.
