A homeless charity and children undergoing operations in Africa will benefit from items of clothing and Teddy Bears knitted by local Yarn Bombers.

Over the winter months the ‘Little and Large Lite Bites Cafe Yarn Bombing Team’ in Saundersfoot have been busy knitting and crocheting various items in support of two charities

Eighty-five hats, 39 scarves, one pair of gloves, five pairs of socks, and 12 baby jumper/hat combos have been completed by the Bombers, and friends; to send off to the ‘Knit for Peace’ charity based in London. These items will be distributed to the homeless and people in war torn areas.

Twenty Teddies have also been made by the group to send to the ‘Teddies for Tragedies’ charity.

These will go to children undergoing operations in hospitals in Africa, so that they have a friend to cuddle after their treatment.

The Yarn Bombing Team meet every Thursday morning at around 10 am in the Little and Large Lite Bites Cafe in Saundersfoot and welcome any new members.

Among the group are some very talented knitters and crocheters who are very happy to help beginners learn the crafts.
