Four girls from Pembroke Dock Community School travelled to the David Lloyd Tennis Centre in Cardiff last Thursday to represent Pembrokeshire Schools at the Wales Tennis Primary Schools Competition.
Needing to arrive in Cardiff for 9.30 am, the team had an early start, but didn't let that affect them, with a first round victory against a strong team from Monmouthshire.
Victories in the following two matches against teams from Newport and Bridgend saw the team finish top of their group and reach the semi-finals!
An extremely hard fought semi-final left the PDCS beaten, but the result should not detract from this outstanding effort. The girls have done brilliantly to get so far in what is an extremely high standard of tennis competition.
Team: Sydnee Turner, Amy Scaife, Louise Mear and Nia Williams.
