An exciting lineup of chefs, food producers and live music are among the menu of delights to be found at Narberth Food Festival this month.

The annual two-day festival takes over the Town Moor on September 28 and 29 and features a music stage, bar, family entertainment, street food, food hall with 40 stalls, bar chefs, tastings, demonstrations and more.

Join music stage host and Pure West Radio presenter BB Skone to soak in the sounds of some of the top local acts he has curated for your enjoyment.

And with the bar and street food area in close proximity, it is the perfect spot to meet up and hang out with family and friends to keep the end of summer festival season going.

Saturday’s lineup features Abbie Jebbers, Tomos Newman, Desert Life, The Swingin Nettles, Cadence and Boxset.

Sunday entertainment comes from Rosey Cale, Follically Challenged, John Lewis, the Omega Two and Ella Guru.

There will be top tips and tasty temptations served up in the food theatre across the week-end with a programme of experts all keen to share their passion for food and good produce.

BSL (British Sign Language) interpreter Shirley David will be signing in the Food Theatre on the Saturday.

Saturday chefs feature:

• A demonstration by Dougie Balish, executive chef at The Grove;

• Talk and taste with Josh Freeman, co-founder of Salt + Smoke (small batch smoked salmon);

• A demonstration by Karl Jones-Hughes, head chef at Stopio in Narberth;

• Talk with Owen and Michelle Rosser, of Pembrokeshire Chilli Farm, who will tell their story and introduce their new range of BBQ rubs;

• Emma the Miller and Gabriele the Baker, from Y Felin in St Dogmaels, will talk about their passion for quality grain and working methods.

•And there’s a chance to find out more about one of Carmarthen’s famous food offerings, Carmarthen Ham, with Matthew Rees.

Sunday’s chefs include the return of some always-popular festival favourites and well known names. Joining the action will be:

• Head Chef Gerwyn Jones from the newly opened Lan y Môr, near Saundersfoot.

• Festival patron, broadcaster, food writer and cookery school owner Angela Gray.

• Writer, broadcaster and restaurateur Simon Wright, will be talking about the new food-related initiative Cegin y Bobl - The People’s Kitchen.

• And dishing up the final treat in his inimitable style will be the always entertaining Ludo Dieumegard, Head Chef at Harbourmaster, in Aberaeron.

In the food hall will be a vast array of great produce ranging from sweet treats to ciders and spirits, honey, soap, books, meats, fish, cheeses, spices, olives, beers, sauces, chocolate, pickles and more.

The festival also offers a great opportunity to explore the town and its wide array of food outlets and independent shops.

Holly Robinson, of the food festival committee, said: “This promises to be another great festival with something for everyone to enjoy.

“The committee who put this event together are all volunteers who share a passion for and an interest in community, great music and food. A big thank you goes to all who work so hard behind the scenes and across the festival to make this event happen.

“We invite and welcome everyone to join us for the weekend to celebrate all things local, live music and food.”

Festival opening times are:

• 10am to 6pm Saturday, September 28

• 10am to 4pm Sunday, September 29

Entry is £5 adults each day (children free). Pay at the gate.

Dogs on leads are welcome in the outdoor areas, but please note only assistance dogs are allowed in the main food marquee.

To help with access both days, two park and ride schemes will be operating from the north and south of town. These can be found via the road into town from Penblewin, at the primary school, SA67 7FE and from the Templeton road at SA67 8RG.
