PEMBROKE Farmers Club has held the annual Pembroke & Country show for over 200 years. Set on the show field in Lamphey, it is the perfect day out for the whole family.
Show attractions at the show on Wednesday, August 7 - also known locally as the ‘Lamphey Show’ - will include cattle, sheep and goat judging, horse and dog shows, trade and craft stands and Main Ring attractions such as ‘The Quack Pack’.
In addition there will be vintage tractors and cars, food and refreshments and a bar, and what’s more, parking is free.
President’s welcome
IT gives me great pleasure to be president of Pembroke Farmers Club.
Last year saw the sixth generation of my family exhibiting at the show. My great grandfather, James Davies, was Chairman in 1905. I’ve been involved since 1970 stewarding and showing cattle and previously being Chairman. I’ve also been YFC Chairman which is the future of the Farmers Club and this Show.
Please come along this year to meet friends old and new and have a good day out. We look forward to welcoming you all.

President
Chairman’s greeting
HOW quickly a year goes! It feels like only yesterday I was reading Elizabeth’s chairman’s report in the 2023 catalogue.
As I think back to last year’s show, I must congratulate all involved for making it such a success.
Now, to move into the present day and Pembroke show 2024. I must of course, take this opportunity to thank the show committee, our members, the Ladies committee, South Pembs Young Farmers Club and all of the stewards and many volunteers for their hard work and dedication to pull together a show that we are all proud of. I would also like to thank all exhibitors as well as stall and stand owners for coming along and supporting us today. It truly will be a great day out, showcasing many aspects of the rural and local community.
This year we welcome a number of attractions that we have featured before such as the Quack Pack but also welcome Pembrokeshire Mudslingers to their first Pembroke Town and Country show.
As usual, the Ladies Committee has organised a fantastic array of horticulture and domestic classes in the competitions tent showcasing a variety of talent from the local community. Of course I must pay tribute to the livestock entries and their handlers. With them, they bring an outstanding exhibit of horses, sheep, cattle, goats, fur, eggs and new for 2024 we have included classes for pigs.
Please don’t forget to have a look at the impressive vintage tractors and the classic car display which I am sure will be only one of the many highlights in the attractions ring today. A timetable for these can be found in this feature.
Finally, I would like to pay tribute to The Phillips family for once again allowing us to utilise the field in which to hold the show. It has been an honour to be chairman of the Pembroke Farmers club this year and I thank the members for entrusting such a prestigious role to me.
Thank you all for your continued support of myself, Pembroke Farmers Club and Pembroke show.
Please visit our new website, pembroketownandcountryshow.org.uk, for information including a link to buy tickets ready for show day.
I hope you have an enjoyable day.
