Given we’ve experienced one of ur better summers for many a year it’s appropriate that this year’s division one title is shaping up to be one of the best too.

After Cresselly beat Haverfordwest on Saturday it looks for all to see that it will be a two horse race however Whitland are hot on their heels in third and you can’t discount Neyland either.

In claiming 28 points against the Town the Doves are now level on points with them which will provide a thrilling end of season run-in.

Cresselly had Dan Cherry and Ryan Lewis to thank for the win as Lewis took 5-25 and Cherry hitting 83 not out helping cresselly overhaul Haverfordwest’s 174-8.

Kilgetty are slowly rising up the table with their win over Burton lifting them up to fourth from bottom an condemning their opponents into the relegation zone.

It was a tight win however with the Kingsmoor outfit winning by five runs having scored 163 all out in their dig.

Kurtis Marsh shone for the visitors taking 3-30 and scoring 53 while Liam Cullen took 2-4 after Tom Lewis scored 36 and Jack Parkinson 23.

Whitland had a crushing win over Lawrenny winning by 151 runs.

Steff James was in inspired form with the bat scoring 128 not out in Whitland’s 257-4 and then Iestyn Scourfield took 9-39 in reply as Lawrenny were all out for 106.

Carew are one or two wins from guaranteeing themselves promotion after yet another big win in division two, this time Llechryd were the victims beings all out for 104 in reply to Carew’s 150-2.

Tom Davies was on fire for the Rooks scoring 101 not out and Shaun Whitfield scored 32 not out and Tom Scourfield 52 with Rhys Davies hitting 43.

Haverfordwest seconds had a big win over Cresselly seconds winning by 71 runs.

The Town batted first hit 236-8 and Cresselly were all out for 165.

Neal Williams scored 75 for Cresselly while Josh Lewis took 4-54.

Stackpole beat hook by six wickets as they overcame Hook’s 165 all out. George Smith took 3-29 for the Lillies whirl Richard McKay and iwan McDonald both took a brace apiece before Josh Davies scored 68 and James Adie 30 in the winning reply.

Narberth could only draw with Pembroke although the new rules now mean it was effectively a win given they picked up 29 points for restricting Pembroke to 179-8 in reply to their 238-9.

Jordan Howell scored 50 for Narberth and Richie Adams 43 while Kyle Quartermaine took 3-29 as Pembroke struggled in reply.

Barry Evans scored 64 for the visitors and Jack harries 49 while Rob Smythe took 3-58.

Biggest win of the day went to Saundersfoot with a huge 283 run win over Whitland Seconds.

The hosts scored 324-7 after Nicky Cope scored 153 and Simon Stanford 52 while in reply, Sam Franklin took three wickets and scored 38 while John Mansbridge took 5-14.

Lawrenny seconds moved up to fourth from top in division three after a five wicket win against Haverfordwest thirds who could only score 161-5 in their innings after Will Randell took 5-38.

In reply, Steve Campbell scored 71 and Tom Cole 51 as Lawrenny scored 162-5.

Lamphey lost their fourth game of the season following a seven wicket defeat at Herbrandston.

The Stags were all out for 135 with Lewis Haines hitting 27 before Herbie passed it for the loss of three wickets.

Pembroke Dock continue to set the standard however with a six wicket win at home to Llanrhian who were all out for 145 thanks to Billy Wood’s 5-24 and Nick Daley’s 4-9.

Daley then scored 54 not out in the reply with Peter Kingdom hitting 41.

Carew seconds remain hot on their heels with an eight wicket win over Narberth seconds who scored 185-7 in their innings thanks to Rich Dyer’s 67 not out, Chris Spratt’s 30 and Gareth Hughes’ 34.

In reply Dai Rees hit 92 not out while Iori Hicks took 3-33 and Jacob Knox 3-39 for the winners.

In division four bottom club Hundleton went down to an eight wicket defeat at Llanrhian seconds while Saundersfoot Seconds were unable to raise a side to play at Crymych.

Laugharne meanwhile beat St Ishmaels’ seconds by three wickets as they overcame the visitors’ 187 all out after Kevin Pearce scored 72 and Shane Williams 55 not out, Shaun Lynch took 6-23 for the hosts.

Finally in division five Cresselly thirds were defeated by three wickets at Haverfordwest fourths.

Cresselly hit 199-6 after Corey Hill’s 63 and Sean Izzard’s 65 but the Town were too strong on the day.

Carew thirds beat Pembroke Dock seconds by eight wickets after the Dock reached 143-7 thanks to George Kingdom’s 35 and John Davies’ 39 not out but with Greg Morris scoring 58, Simon Gronow 29 not out and Alan Townsend 34 not out there was only going to be one winner.

Pembroke seconds beat Stackpole seconds by six wickets after the Lilies scored 184-5 with John Hughes hitting 63 and Jake Booth 41.

But with Adie Phillips hitting 64 not out the writing was on the wall for the visitors.

A heavy defeat for Kilgetty seconds who were all out for 28 inreply to Whitland thirds’ 172-7.

Rob Owen scored 43 for Whitland and Wayne Jones 36 before Owen took 6-11 in the reply alongside John Fuller’s 4-17.
