Local boy Finn Arentz put in a great performance at the Sospan Sizzler Middle Distance Triathlon at Burry Port last Sunday to take the overall win.
The 20 year old from Tenby, who is studying at Exeter University, will be racing at the 70.3 World Championship in Nice, France.
He will also be competing in the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii this year having double qualified by winning his age group races at both Ironman Wales in 2018 and Lanzarote earlier this year.
He was using the Sizzler as a final practice race before the last big block of training going into Nice.
After a choppy swim on Sunday, Finn put a good performance in the two loop bike course which set him up nicely to run into the lead and eventually take the win. Finn says that he was “very pleased with the result” which he had not been expecting beforehand.
