Kilgetty AFC Women’s team came away with 3 points when they played St Dogmaels at Kingsmoor on Sunday.

Kilgetty struggled to find their feet early on, and a lively St Dogmaels took the lead early on with a goal from Ffion Kinsella.

Kilgetty’s Sam Richards played a long ball over the top of the St Dogs defence and found the feet of Becky Bonser, who slid in to strike the ball past the keeper at her front post.

St Dogmaels were awarded a penalty; forward Becky Grota fired into the roof of the net to send them 2-1 up going into half time.

Kilgetty greeted the second half with revised tactics and a newfound spirit to get the win. Erin Griffiths got herself onto the end of a Sam Richards cross to finish at the back post and to bring the game levels. Richards found herself over a corner kick which she bent straight into the far corner of the St Dogmaels net.

Bonser got onto the end of a Maisie Sherratt clearance and calmly slotted the ball into the corner to make it 4-2, before Bethan Cant hit an overhead kick from inside the box which looped over the keeper and into the net.

Kilgetty goalkeeper Kayleigh Mills made a great save to finish the game off at 5-2.
