With the Christmas break looming, Narberth have already played half their league fixtures having completed 13 games out of the scheduled 26 and it’s fair to say their season so far has not been a great one.

They’ve won just the four games and Saturday’s fixture against Hakin didn’t give them much hope of increasing that tally. It proved to be the case as the Vikings went home having shown the Bluebirds a lesson on how to play football given they walloped the hosts 7-2.

Sean O’Neill and Dafydd Wright helped the home team gain some semblance of respectability to the scoreline, but with Nicky Woodrow hitting three of the seven, the result was a foregone conclusion.

Lamphey made the short trip over to Angle and came back with a victory in the Ann and Steve Tanton sponsored clash. Nico Morrison ensured the Stags had bragging rights in the derby that helped them to their seventh victory of the season. The win lifts them to fourth in the league.

In another derby a few miles down the road at Monkton, the game between the Swifts and Tenby was abandoned after 15 minutes due to poor conditions due to the weather.

At Neyland, however, there were no such problems for Carew as they stormed to their fifth win of the season after hammering the hosts 6-1. Ian Derbyshire scored twice for the Rooks, before goals from Scott Ferney, Alex Bailey, Henry Macbeth and Jordan Richards sealed the deal.

Meanwhile, in the second round of the Senior Cup, Pennar lost to Merlins Bridge 5-1 as Connor Rees scored the Robins’ only goal.

In division two, St. Clears beat Solva 2-1 following goals from Dan Potter and Jon Thomas, while in three, Kilgetty hammered Milford Athletic 6-2. Hundleton drew 2-2 at Fishguard Sports, while a goal by Joe Kidney wasn’t enough to prevent Herbrandston winning easily at Lawrenny as the Gavenyards lost 5-1.

Saundersfoot Sports had a Saturday of thumb twiddling after their game at St. Ishmaels was postponed due to the weather.

Pendine, meanwhile, played host to Narberth seconds in division three and beat the visitors 5-2. Steve Thomas was on fire for the Gulls, netting four times as Nathan Davies struck the other, while Ben Stephens and Jordan Thomas scored for the Bluebirds’ second string.

Carew seconds lost 5-0 at home to Llangwm, while Manorbier United lost 5-1 at home to Clarbeston Road’s second team.

St. Clears’ seconds were at Solva reserves and lost 7-2, with Joe Gouldingay and Joshua Jones scoring for the visitors, while Pennar Robins’ thirds clash at Herbrandston seconds was postponed.

Lamphey seconds drew 3-3 at home to Fishguard Sports and it was tied 1-1 between Pembroke Boro and Angle seconds.J ake Campbell scored for the hosts and Dalton Boswell for the visitors.

Biggest win of the day, however, was between St. Florence and Neyland seconds, with the Saints winning 11-0. Ashley Smith scored four for the hosts and Lewis Deforges three, while Phil Evans struck a well-deserved brace. The other goals came from Will Thomas and Adam Roberts.

In division five, the scheduled match between Kilgetty seconds and Milford Athletic seconds was postponed as were the games between Broad Haven seconds and Monkton Swifts’ seconds and Camrose reserves and Carew thirds.

Four goals by Jack Blunsden and two from Sam Blunsden, along with solitary strikes from Jack Phillips and Sam Newberry, helped Hundleton seconds to an 8-2 win, while Lawrenny seconds beat Llangwm seconds 2-2 after goals from Codie Clews and Rhys Jenkins.
