Osprey Sailor and TSC Ex Sailing Captain Jaime Bohata set sail last June on an extended cruise.
Jaime with partner Hanna and chjldren Elen (8) and Macsen (4) have sailed their 36’ Westerley Corsair ‘Slioch’ from Pembrokeshire down the coasts of France, Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, and are currently enjoying the Canary Islands.
Their favourite venues so far have been Agadir, La Palma, and La Gomera. Last Friday they were anchored at Los Cristianos on Tenerife, and Jaime came ashore to meet up with former TSC Commodore Billy Stubbs, his wife Pat, and current TSC press officer Geoff Titterton.
It was interesting to hear that home schooling for the children was working well, and their experiences of different cultures are enhancing the children’s education.
Dinghy Racing: Sailing Captain Dan Jackson, aided by Alistair Lindsey, has diversified this month to start sailing a Dragon Flite 95, remote controlled model yacht, completing two outings to Margam already, and hoping to try a session on Pembroke Castle Millpond this week.
Dinghy racing in conventional boats will be resuming in Tenby in April. A practice race has been scheduled for Saturday, March 30 at 3pm.
Junior Training: Spaces are still available for any youngsters over the age of 8 to learn Sailing skills. Registration is on April 3 and 10 at 6pm and the course starts on April 17 at 5.30pm, and continues every Wednesday until September 11 with one exception on August 14.
