If you go down to the Vincent Davies store in Haverfordwest, you’re sure of a big surprise, in the shape of talented, deep voiced singing penguins performing Christmas songs!
Hear them singing Carol of the Bells and other seasonal tunes. Just press the blue button when lit and enjoy a remarkable performance! As well as getting shoppers in a festive mood and delighting children, it’s all for a good cause.
The Catrin Vaughan Foundation helps children with additional learning needs within Pembrokeshire with the provision of facilities and equipment, not normally provided by the local education authority.
The foundation was set up in Catrin’s memory. She was a teacher of children with additional learning needs at Ysgol Glannau Gwaun, Fishguard before her tragic death in an accident on her way to work.
The Charity Singing Penguins will continue to spread festive cheer, thanks to Team Christmas! All donations are gratefully received.
In the store’s Christmas Shop, Santa has been to visit and left his Magical Talking Post Box!
“Santa would love to receive a letter from your little ones,” the staff explain. “Don’t forget to include your address so he knows where to send his reply.”
Situated on Fishguard Road, Vincent Davies is a lovely local store to visit in the run-up to Christmas, to browse gifts, toys, sweets, cookware, tableware, clothing, furniture, furnishings, scented candles and reed diffusers, decorations, Christmas trees and more.
It’s ‘where Christmas comes alive’ and it’s open 10am-5pm.
There’s also Café Vincent, open daily 10am-4pm (3pm on Sundays).
From Saturday, December 14 to Monday, December 23, Vincent Davies enjoys extended hours, staying open until 6pm every day except Sunday. Christmas Eve opening hours are 10am-4pm before the shop closes for Christmas Day and Boxing Day, reopening on December 27 and 28, 10am-6pm.
