Pembrokeshire MP Henry Tufnell has paid a visit Sandy Bear Children’s Bereavement Charity in Milford Haven where he was inspired by the dedication of a team working tirelessly to ensure that no child faces bereavement alone.

Mr Tufnell described the opportunity to visit the charity on Friday, November 8 a privilege.

“I was warmly welcomed by Lee Barnett, CEO, and Dawn Thomas, Head of Delivery, who shared the life-changing work they and their team do every day to support children and families through the painful journey of grief.

“Sandy Bear offers a compassionate and safe environment where children and young people can express their feelings, build resilience, and find hope. From one-to-one counselling to group activities, their support is invaluable in helping families navigate such difficult times.”

“It was inspiring to see firsthand the dedication of the Sandy Bear team, who work tirelessly to ensure that no child faces bereavement alone,” said Mr Tufnell, adding that he is “committed to supporting charities like Sandy Bear that provide essential services to our community.”

The visit took place during National Trustee Week. The guidance and commitment of Sandy Bear’s trustees play a vital role in helping the charity achieve its mission of supporting children, young people and families through bereavement.

The week provided an opportunity for new members of the team to meet the board and connect with those who help steer Sandy Bear forward.

Sandy Bear extended a special thank you to Henry Tufnell MP, Welsh Labour MP for Mid and South Pembrokeshire, for visiting their premises and showing such meaningful support for Sandy Bear’s work.

“Thank you to everyone at Sandy Bear for the warm welcome,” added the Member of Parliament for Mid and South Pembrokeshire. “I look forward to helping raise awareness of your incredible work.”
