A 33-year-old man from Burton, Pembrokeshire has been ordered to appear at Swansea Crown Court to face multiple charges of offences against children between 2020 and 2021.
Christopher Phillips, of Kiln Park, Burton, Milford Haven appeared before Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on October 29.
Phillips entered no plea to a raft of charges, including of grievous bodily harm to a child with intent; one of assaulting a child, occasioning actual bodily harm.
The defendant is also accused of two counts of penetrative sexual assault on a child aged between 7 and 9 weeks.
Further charges included causing or allowing a child or vulnerable adult to suffer serious physical harm and assaulting, ill-treating, neglecting or abandoning a child or young person to cause unnecessary suffering or injury to health.
Magistrates sent Phillips to Crown Court for trial on conditional bail - with the next hearing in Crown Court scheduled for November 11, 2024.
The bail conditions are to prevent interference with witnesses or otherwise obstruct the course of justice, whether in relation to the defendant or any other person. The conditions also dictate that there must be no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18 years old.
