Company of Sirens will bring their bilingual production of Water Wars, a powerful new eco-thriller by acclaimed playwright Ian Rowlands, to Milford Haven’s Torch Theatre on March 25 and 26.
Bringing audiences a timely exploration of one of the most pressing environmental crises of our time, Water Wars delves into a dystopian near future, where global water shortages spark political conflict and personal betrayals.
As communities are torn apart by dwindling resources, the play questions humanity’s priorities, the price of survival, and the impact of environmental degradation on the fabric of society. With its unique blend of suspense, political intrigue, and deeply personal stories, the production is set to captivate audiences and spark important conversations about sustainability and our planet's future.
Directed by Chris Durnall, Artistic Director of Company of Sirens, Water Wars brings together a stellar cast of Welsh talent. This thrilling narrative, expertly weaving together Welsh and English dialogue, is both global and local, underscoring Wales’ rich cultural heritage while addressing an issue of worldwide importance.
Durnall said: “Water Wars is a deeply important piece, both for Wales and the wider world. Ian Rowlands has created a narrative that doesn’t just entertain but forces us to confront uncomfortable truths about the way we live and the choices we make. We’re excited to bring this gripping eco-thriller to theatres across Wales.
