A Pembrokeshire community fundraised and bought a pub, following its previous owners’ retirement in 2017, and has flourished, winning multiple awards and gaining national recognition.

Built to serve the long-closed Rosebush railway station nearby, Tafarn Sinc was built using corrugated iron in the 1870s. It was part of a quarry development that once provided the slates for the roof of Westminster Palace.

Some of the directors of community group Cymdeithas Tafarn Sinc met with Senedd Member Paul Davies to discuss future plans and ways to promote the pub further.

Mr Davies said, “It’s always a pleasure to visit Tafarn Sinc – it’s a fantastic local pub and vital community asset. It’s very much down to the hard work and dedication of local volunteers and staff that the pub continues to thrive today.

“The hospitality at Tafarn Sinc is second to none and it’s rightly been nationally recognised as one of the best pubs in Wales by media outlets. The pub is steeped in local history, is set in the backdrop of the beautiful Preseli mountains and offers a warm welcome to all.

“If you haven’t already visited this local gem, then I’d strongly encourage you to pay a visit and enjoy everything Tafarn Sinc has to offer.”
