Milford Athletic 0 Kilgetty AFC Women 5
by Matthew Davies
Kilgetty Women’s team visited Milford Athletic at The Pavilion on Sunday.
Kilgetty chose to play up the Pill Lane slope in the first half and Milford looked to capitalise on the advantage, playing a high line and looking to pen Kilgetty in. However, Kilgetty stood firm and kept the score to 0-0 at the end of the first half, with both teams struggling to play the football they would've wanted.
The second half opened up the game with Kilgetty now looking to press forward and play more open football. It didn't take long for the deadlock to be broken with Becky Bonser firing into the bottom corner from inside the 18-yard box.
Becky was on target again after getting on the end of a Maisie Sherratt clearance, making the game 2-0. Midfielder Erin Griffiths grabbed herself a goal after a good save from the Milford keeper was parried into her path.
Becky Bonser would get on the scoresheet another two times before the full-time whistle was blown, providing her a 4 goal haul for the day.
Both teams worked hard and Kilgetty AFC Women thanked their hosts for a good afternoon of football.
