Twenty-five people were fined for littering offences in Pembrokeshire at Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, January 9.
Each offence involved the depositing of litter in a place to which Section 87 of the Environmental Protection Act applies.
Paul Andrew, of Stepaside threw down, dropped or otherwise deposited a rolled up cigarette in Jones Terrace, Tenby, and left it there.
Wayne Balch, of Dover threw down, dropped or otherwise deposited a cigarette butt in Withybush Retail Park, and left it there.
Omid Buergin, of London, a rolled up cigarette in Upper Frog Street, Tenby.
Matthew Collins, of Milford Haven, a cigarette butt in McDonald’s, Merlin’s Bridge.
Simon Green, of Capel Dewi, Carmarthen, a rolled up cigarette in Springfield Retail Park, Haverfordwest.
Aisha Jephcott, of Cosheston, a cigarette butt in Dimond Street, Pembroke Dock.
Alison Mills, of Ynysforgan, Swansea, a cigarette butt in High Street, Tenby.

The majority of the cases heard were proved in the absence of the defendant. Each case proved in absence attracted a fine of £220 plus costs of £266.66 and a victim services surcharge of £88, making a total of £574.66.
Exceptions were as follows: Abbott, having entered a not guilty plea on December 12, for whom costs were set at £435.74 when the case was proved in absence. Present in court on January 9 were Daines, Davies, Raymond and Griffiths, who each pleaded guilty. Daines, Davies and Raymond were fined £40, plus costs of £100 and a surcharge of £16, while Griffiths, who had changed a not guilty plea to guilty, was fined £40 plus £130 costs and £16 surcharge.
An additional seven cases were withdrawn, one was dismissed on the grounds that no evidence was given, and one will go to trial on January 27 following a not guilty plea.
