HAVERFORDWEST Magistrates Court has ordered an 80-year-old woman from Crymych to appear, either in person or by Cloud Video Platform to answer animal neglect charges.
The charges relate to the care of 11 donkeys and a pony. The woman is accused of failing to provide adequate and appropriate farrier care between September 5, 2023 and March 21, 2024, thereby causing unnecessary suffering to protected animals.
It’s also claimed that she did not take reasonable steps to care for the animals’ needs: suitable environment, an appropriate diet, dental care, display normal behaviour patterns, given adequate dental care, with coats kept in good condition; protected from pain, suffering, injury and disease.
The case will be heard on at 10am on November 27.
